We have adopted this policy as it embraces two key parts of the Inspirit culture: trust and a great work-life balance. We believe that in order to do your best work, you should get the time you need for rest, rejuvenation, or recovery. This policy is also based on a mutual trust between you, your team, your Champion, and the company as a whole. 💪🏼
The time off is yours to enjoy (or just there when you need it)!🥳 Do read through the guidelines detailed below before you apply for any leave!
The Unlimited Leave policy at Inspirit is applicable to ALL full-time employees. Due to time tracking requirements for contractors, this policy is not applicable to them.
The time off is yours, to use as you see fit! You can use it for vacations, staycations, weddings, festival celebrations, illness, family illness, emergencies, mental health days, doctor’s appointments, or any other personal matters that might require you to take time off from work.
Policy Elements: 🤔
- *Unlimited Leave do not get paid out.*🤑 Your provision to take paid time off is part of our promise to provide a flexible work schedule—including your ability to decide when and how much time to take off. This won’t be considered as an additional compensation for your work done here at Inspirit.
- *This policy covers sick days.*🤒 Included within this unlimited paid time off policy are paid sick days. Requests to use sick days should follow the same procedure outlined in this document. Since these days are included within this policy, they do not roll over or accrue.
- *Your Unlimited leave will be tracked!*⏳ Inspirit will track vacation time for all employees to make sure that employees are taking the minimum days’ leave of 20 days in a year and to ensure employees don’t take time off that compromises their performance. This also makes it easier to ensure proper coverage while the employee is out of office, as well.
- This policy doesn’t cover all forms of leave.‼️This vacation policy for full-time employees may not be used as a means to extend other types of leave, such as Maternity, Paternity and Pet Leave. These types of leave are all handled separately. Please refer to the policies listed here if you have questions about any other type of leave. A few days of the unlimited leave option can be availed to extend Bereavement leaves on a needs basis.
- This policy is built on trust! 🤝 an employee’s performance declines significantly due to abuse of this policy, Inspirit reserves the right to review the employee’s use of this policy and determine if discipline is appropriate.
How to avail your unlimited leave? 💌
- All time off requests must be approved by your Champion. Once you’ve informed your Champion and have gotten the approval, keep your team informed about any leave you have planned to take. Some situations where it might be denied are very long-term requests of 4 or more weeks, or recurring time off, like every Friday.
- Give as much notice as possible. For planned absences, it’s best to put in the request 1-2 weeks in advance. For unplanned absences, please let your Champion know as soon as possible. For unplanned absences of 3+ days due to injury or illness, please provide a doctor’s note certifying that you are fit to return to work.
- Request your time off in a standardised way!
- Send a mail to your Champion (keep @Srishti Shah CC’d) for approval by mentioning the dates you are planning on taking the off. This will help us keep your leave documented.
- Once approved, add the time off to your calendar. Mark your leave dates on the calendar and invite the key team members to be in loop.
- Set your OOO message on Gmail and update your Slack status with your upcoming time off.
